We added some plants to one island and a couple of citrus trees (a lemon tree and an orange tree).
Brian and I wanted mature trees so that we could have fruit right away and the lemon tree came with 5 lemons. YUM!
Our good fortune didn't last. We had a harsh winter (for Central Florida) with several frosts and lots of strong winds. The lemon tree barely made it and the orange tree lost its battle.
We weren't interested in putting out another $200 for a mature tree, but we found a $20 tree from someone selling plants in their front yard.
Out with the old and in with the new. From the looks of this little guy, a couple of oranges would take it down.
Now I need to work on designing a patio and landscaping to finish off the yard. Too many options to choose from. Maybe a nice back yard would bring some more friends for Simba and Lydia.
